Since the beginning of 2021, Canada has been inviting Provincial Nominee Program and Canadian Experience Class candidates only in the Express Entry Draws.
IRCC invited 557 PNP candidates in the newest Express Entry invitation round held on May 12. Invited candidates required a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 752 and above in order to receive an invitation in this round.
When an immigration candidate secures a provincial nomination, he or she gets 600 points which are added to his or her express entry CRS score. Therefore, the minimum CRS score required in a PNP-specific express entry draw is always more than 600.
As per the studies, approximately 66 percent of PNP candidates who have prior Canadian work experience secure permanent residence. So, having Canadian work experience gives an edge to PNP candidates and they are able to get a job within a year of landing in Canada.
Looking ahead in 2021
Canada wants to admit several new immigrants as permanent residents over the coming three years. IRCC has planned to have an intake of 108,500 new immigrants this year primarily through the express entry-aligned programs.
