A lottery for the Parents and Grandparents Program for 2022 has already been conducted. As part of the Canadian PGP, sponsors can reunite with their family members.

According to IRCC, the 23100 invitations to apply for sponsorships in the PGP pool of 2022 have been distributed.
It was decided by the IRCC that this year there would not be a new round of interest from sponsors in the same manner as the PGP of 2021. A different option would be to grant ITAs for the 2022 PGP. To Canadian sponsors who expressed interest in the fall of 2020 via the IRCC’s website.
Potential sponsors who received an invitation during the most recent PGP season. They will need to confirm their eligibility again before completing the application. To submit a comprehensive application for PGP sponsorship, applicants must submit an ITA by December 24, 2022.
In the whole Canadian immigration market, the Parents and Grandparents Program lottery invitations remain among the most sought-after ITAs. A large number of sponsorship opportunities are available but the interest from Canadians to sponsor their family members. As well as continues to outpace the number of sponsorship opportunities available. Over 200,000 sponsor interest forms were received by the IRCC in October/November 2020. It is relevant to the size of the sponsor pool within which ITAs were distributed.
Nevertheless, Canada hopes to reduce further that pool of 155,000 interested sponsors in the 2022 PGP cycle. It aims to accept and process 15,000 PGP applications from 23,100 ITAs.
