Express Entry Draw Invites PNP Candidates, CRS Score Drops Further

The 145th Express Entry Draw and 12th draw of 2020 was held on April 29. A total of 589 candidates who had provincial nominations from Canadian provinces were invited in this draw. The provincial nominee candidates required a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 692 and above to secure an Invitation to Apply for Canada PR. Invited candidates already had an additional score of 600 points, owing to the provincial nomination that they had secured. This means that they required only 92 points more based on human capital factors. Also Read: How to Move to Canada through Express Entry? For the provincial nominee program-specific express entry draw, this is the lowest CRS score recorded. In the previous draw, the requirement for the CRS score was 698 points. So, in this draw, the required score has gone down by 6 points. The tie-break rule was used by IRCC in this Express Entry Draw. The date and the time for tie-break were March 11, 2020, at 13:46:21. So, only those PNP candidates received invitations who have submitted their express entry profile before this date and time.

Express Entry doing a commendable job

The COVID-19 pandemic has engulfed the entire country and has disrupted several services as well. However, the IRCC is still conducting Express Entry Draws to welcome new immigrants. Besides, the year 2020 has started off with a boom for the Express Entry Immigration System and it is still doing a praiseworthy job. The first quarter of 2020 yielded great results. There were more ITAs issued in the first quarter this year than there were in the Q1 of the last two years. And, the IRCC has begun to conduct program-specific draws since the implementation of special coronavirus prevention measures. Since March 18, the IRCC has conducted seven program-specific Express Entry Draws and invited candidates belonging to the Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program. In the month of April, the Canadian government has already issued a total of 8,389 ITAs. This shows that the coronavirus pandemic cannot impede Canada’s Immigration Target. And the total number of invitations issued through Express Entry so far this year amounts to 30,989.

Expressway to Immigrate to Canada!

The Express Entry system is one of the best immigration programs internationally. It was introduced in 2015 to fast-track the processing times for immigrant visa applications. The Express Entry allows new immigrants to apply for Canadian permanent residence through the following three economy class programs:

Federal Skilled Trade

Canadian Experience Class

Apart from these three programs, the nine provinces and two territories of Canada have at least one express entry aligned immigration stream belonging to their Provincial Nominee Programs through which a candidate can apply for permanent residence in a particular province or territory.
