In the latest PNP draw, British Columbia invites more than 157 applicants to apply for the provincial nomination. The draw was conducted by the province on 14 June 20222. British Colombia is the only province of Canada that conducts draw on a weekly basis.
Result of Common draw
BC’s PNP candidates are usually invited through common and targeted draws which are based on demand sectors and occupations. This week, 138 invitees to the general draw were issued with minimum Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS) scores between 76 and 123 depending on the route.
- The skilled worker is required to score at least 109 to be invited.
- EEBC option skilled workers have to score at least 123 to get invited.
- EEBC option international graduates have to score at least 106 to get invited.
- Entry-level and Semi-Skilled candidates have to score at least 76 to be invited.
Result of targeted draw
Recently BC has conducted a targeted draw for those candidates who fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria for specific National Occupation Classification (NOCs). This draw is conducted for in-demand occupations in the province, for example, healthcare and tech occupations.
For targeted draws, the SIRS score does not need a high score as compared to the score in the pool of normal draws. For each targeted category there is a minimum score required, which is 60.
Invited candidates by British Columbia in their targeted draw are given below:
- 12 early childhood educators are invited which falls under NOC 4214.
- 7 for healthcare professions.
- There are less than 5 other professions that are invited that fall under NOCs 3114 and 3213.
About SIRS
To be qualified to get an invitation through BC candidates have to create a profile with SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System). SIRS is as similar to express entry’s CRS that is used by the IRCC. BC invites candidates with the highest score in its general draw.
