Express Entry pool candidates were invited by the province of Alberta on 24th November 2021. A total number of 100 candidates were invited.
The AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) has previously invited more than 200 candidates in every draw but this time the draw was comparatively small inviting only 100 candidates. There was a similar draw that took place in January and it was small too, inviting only 50 candidates.
This time Alberta’s draw requirement was set quite high at 350 points. This is the highest cut-off score set for this year however in January there was another draw that had a slightly cut-off at 360 points.
The immigration department of Canada, IRCC has limited the issue of the nomination that can be dispersed by the province of Alberta. This year Alberta is allowed to nominate 6,250 certificates for provincial nomination and so far, the province has allotted about 6,094 certificates of nomination. This justifies that the province is holding smaller draws since they can only give only a few certificates.
There have been 400 Alberta Opportunity Stream until December 7th and according to the government online portal, there have been 825 EOI applications (Expression of Interest).
Alberta Express Entry Stream work
There is Provincial Nominee Program, and then an enhanced version for it is the Alberta Express Entry Stream. With the help of this stream, the provincial government is allowed to skim through the pool of Express Entry candidates held by the federal government, to search for profiles that may fit well for a provincial nomination in Alberta.
The three high skilled management system programs for the economic class are FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program), FSWP (Federal skilled worker program), and CEC (Canadian Experience Class).
Being eligible for the Express Entry will also result in giving the candidate a score ranking known as the Comprehensive Ranking System. The ranking is based on education, work experience, age factor, language ability, and many more factors.
Express Entry draws are frequently held by the immigration department of Canada which invites candidates for a permanent residency.
A candidate can still move to Canada without having to go through the Express Entry System and vice versa. The least CRS score candidates opt for the PNP. The reason for this may be that being selected for a provincial nomination, one can have 600 points straight up added to their existing score which makes it more than enough to get invited to the next draw.
Eligibility of Alberta Express Entry Stream
The eligibility of getting selected by Alberta for a provincial nomination in the Express Entry Stream depends upon the work experience of that candidate in a valid job profile.
The province of Alberta has not established a list of occupations that are eligible to make it to the list. It has been noticed that a lot of people who apply through this stream are transport workers, food industry managers, chefs, and many others.
There are contributing factors that make changes in the decision of the candidate being selected. These are; a Canadian certificate of education, previous experience in Canada, a job offer letter from a legitimate company from Alberta, or having a blood relative staying in Alberta already.
