There are a total number of 136 applicants who were invited through the PEI PNP – (Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program). The immigration draw was conducted on 16 June by the province of Canada.
There was a total of 127 invitations under the labor and Express Entry stream. Nine invitations were released through the business impact and work permit stream of PEI with a minimum point limit of 65. The latest number of invitation draws is less than the last draw that was conducted on 20 May. There were 153 candidates invited to the last draw.
PEI schedules its provincial nominations a year in advance and the draw usually takes place once every month. There are 1174 invitations that have been issued through the PEI PNP since July 2021 and a total of 826 invitations have been issued in 2022.
The Provincial Nominee Program – (PNP)
The provinces and territories of Canada (except Quebec and Nunavut) manage their own PNP draw. Even though provincial nomination is not as similar to a permanent residence but it will increase the chances of getting permanent residence status from IRCC.
There are more than 80 PNP streams available in Canada along with candidates who are able to get permanent residence. Candidates can do this directly by applying to the province or through a profile in Express Entry.
Additionally, candidates who have an Express Entry profile will get 600 extra points that are added to their CRS score and receive a provincial nomination. This will increase the chance of getting ITA from IRCC.
Category of PEI PNP Express Entry
Those candidates who want to apply for provincial nomination through the category of PEI Express Entry must have to qualified for one of the given programs such as CEC (Canadian Experience Class), FSTP (Federal Skilled Trade Program), FSWP (Federal Skilled Workers Program).
Those candidates who have a profile in the pool of Express Entry will have to make an EOI (Expression of Interest) profile with PEI PNP. This profile shows the provincial government that you want to be considered for nomination. It also provides marks to the candidates on the basis of the provincial marks grid. Candidates who score highest in the pool of Express entry will get an invitation to apply in the monthly draw.
Category of Labor Impact
The category of labor impact acts as a base stream nomination, individual of express entry. This category is divided into three streams. Nevertheless, which of these paths do the candidates apply for, they required a valid job offer at PEI and endorsement from their employer.
Skilled worker stream – (SWS)
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of this stream are currently working in PEI or they have a valid job offer from an employer of PEI. You will need experience in a skilled profession that falls under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill code 0, A, or B and a secondary degree or diploma.
Critical worker stream – (CWS)
Those candidates who have work experience come under the NOC codes C or D are qualified for this stream. To become eligible for this stream candidates must have at least two years experience of working in their profession.
International graduate stream
Those candidates who recently graduated from recognized accredited designated learning institutions of Prince Edward Island are qualified for this stream. Those candidates of meet the eligibility of this stream are allowed to work in a skilled profession in their field of study in the province.
Category of Business Impact
The business Impact Category is for eligible candidates who wish to set up, own, and conduct business in PEI.
To get an invitation under the Business Impact category of PEI, you need to apply under the work permit stream. For this route, candidates have to start working in Canada and learn about business work permits. Candidates must be willing to reside in the province of PEI and actively manage the business. If an entrepreneur meets the criteria of PEI on Work Permit, they may be eligible to obtain provincial nomination in support of Permanent Residence Application to IRCC.
