Alberta issues invitations in the latest AAIP draws, i.e., between May 20 and June 2, 2026, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted seven separate draws and invited eligible candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations focused on workers in occupations that are currently in demand across the province, including manufacturing, technology, agriculture, healthcare, and construction.
The latest rounds of invitations highlight Alberta’s continued focus on addressing labour shortages and supporting industries that play an important role in the province’s economy.
As of early June, Alberta had already held 43 immigration draws in 2026, making it one of the most active Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in Canada this year.
Draw Results Between May 20 And June 2
A total of 1,550 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued across the seven draws. Alberta released the details of these selection rounds on June 2 through its official immigration website.
Candidates were selected through multiple immigration pathways. The Alberta Opportunity Stream received the largest share of invitations, accounting for more than 64% of all ITAs issued during this period.
The cut-off scores and number of invitations extended to candidates varied by draw:
| Stream/Pathway | 2026 Nomination Allocation | Nominations Issued | Remaining Nomination Slots |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 3,425 | 1,394 | 2,031 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,000 | 480 | 250 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 150 | 100 | 50 |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways (EE + non-EE) | 500 | 112 | 388 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Accelerated Tech Pathway | 600 | 267 | 333 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Law Enforcement Pathway | 38 | <10 | N/A |
| Alberta Express Entry – Priority sector draws/initiatives | 600 | 213 | 387 |
| Entrepreneur streams | 90 | 17 | 73 |
Several of these draws were among the largest selection rounds held under their respective pathways in 2026.
The May 29 Accelerated Tech Pathway draw invited the highest number of technology professionals seen under that stream this year. The Alberta Opportunity Stream draw held on May 27 also ranked among the largest selections of 2026.
Similarly, the agriculture-focused draw on May 22 and the manufacturing-focused draw on May 21 were the biggest rounds conducted under the Alberta Express Entry Priority Sector initiative so far this year.
The province also held its first dedicated draw for skilled trades workers connected to the construction sector on May 20. This reflects Alberta’s growing need for workers to support ongoing infrastructure and housing projects.
So far in 2026, Alberta has invited at least 7,819 candidates through the AAIP. The Alberta Opportunity Stream continues to account for the largest portion of invitations, with 4,850 ITAs issued through that pathway alone.
Alberta’s Nomination Allocation In 2026
Alberta also publishes regular updates showing how many nomination spaces have been used and how many remain available under each immigration stream.
As of June 3, 2026, the province had used 2,587 nomination spaces from its federal allocation for the year. That leaves 3,816 nomination spots still available.
The province’s latest figures are shown below:
| Stream/Pathway | 2026 Nomination Allocation | Nominations Issued | Remaining Nomination Slots |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 3,425 | 1,394 | 2,031 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,000 | 480 | 250 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 150 | 100 | 50 |

In addition to its regular nomination allocation, Alberta has also reserved spaces to attract specific groups of newcomers. These include 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 French-speaking candidates.
These targeted efforts support important workforce needs while helping strengthen services in communities across the province.
EOI Pool And Applications Awaiting Decisions
The AAIP also provides information about the number of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) currently in its selection pool and the number of applications still waiting to be finalized.
As of June 3, Alberta had 38,292 worker EOIs in its inventory. More than 63% of these profiles were submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
At the same time, 1,222 provincial nomination applications remained under review.
The latest inventory figures are outlined below:
| Stream/Pathway | EOIs In The Pool | Applications Awaiting Processing |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 24,276 | 469 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,928 | 99 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 3,865 | 27 |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways (EE + non-EE) | 1,432 | 21 |

| Alberta Express Entry – Priority sector draws/initiatives | 4,577 | 387 |
| Entrepreneur streams | N/A | 251 |
The large number of EOIs currently in the system shows strong interest in Alberta’s immigration pathways. With thousands of nomination spaces still available in 2026, further invitation rounds are expected throughout the year as the province continues to target workers who can help fill key labour market gaps.
