British Columbia holds the first immigration draw of June, i.e., on June 2, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued invitations to skilled workers in priority occupations and entrepreneurs looking to start or purchase businesses in the province.
A total of 357 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued through the province’s Skills Immigration (SI) and Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) programs.
The latest selection round reflects British Columbia’s updated immigration priorities, which focus on addressing labour shortages in key sectors and supporting economic growth across the province.
Draw Details
Skills Immigration Selection
The majority of invitations were issued through the Skills Immigration category.
Out of the 357 invitations, 342 were sent to candidates working in occupations connected to healthcare, education, veterinary services, and construction trades.
These selections align with the province’s updated immigration strategy announced on April 23, 2026. Through this strategy, British Columbia aims to attract workers who can help fill important labour gaps and support essential services.
The latest draw focused on two of the province’s three key priorities: Care and Build.
The Care priority supports occupations that contribute to healthcare, education, and community services. The Build priority focuses on workers involved in construction and infrastructure projects.
Of the 342 invitations issued through Skills Immigration, construction trades workers received the largest share, accounting for 128 invitations. The remaining invitations went to healthcare, education, and veterinary occupations.
