Manitoba Invites 222 Candidates In The Latest EOI draw

Manitoba needs skilled workers for economic development and the creation of businesses. To maintain stable economic growth, it invites a large number of new immigrants through the Expression of Interest draw.  The province invites candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Through this program, candidates with the right skills and work experience required by the province are selected by Manitoba to receive Letters of Advice to apply for nomination. 

Latest Manitoba Draw 2020

Held on March 12, the 85th Manitoba provincial nominee program draw invited 222 candidates to get nominated by the province.  Selected candidates are invited through three major immigration streams of  MPNP – International Graduates Stream, Skilled Worker in Manitoba, and Skilled Worker Overseas. Out of the 222 candidates invited, 17 belongs to the Express Entry. 

Expression of Interest

A candidate needs to submit an Expression of Interest with the MPNP if he/she is applying for a provincial nomination. While submitting an EOI, the candidate has to answer a set of questions to create an online profile. On the basis of this EOI profile, he/she will be given a score out 0f a total of 1,000. Points are given on the basis of education, language proficiency, connections to Manitoba and work experience. Candidates with impressive profiles get high scores and ultimately invitations are issued to them by the province of Manitoba.

International Graduates Stream

No. of Invitations issued: 18 International Education Stream (IES) provides a platform to graduates from the Manitoba province to apply for nomination.  A student can be eligible for International Education Stream by means of three ways:

• Career Employment Pathway;
• Graduate Internship Pathway; and
• International Student Entrepreneur Pilot

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

No. of skilled workers invited: 191 Score of the lowest-ranked candidate: 496 Skilled Worker in Manitoba is one of the three streams of the Manitoba PNP. This immigration stream is for those candidates who already have a job offer in Manitoba. Foreign workers with a decent skill set are invited by the province to apply for Manitoba provincial nomination. To apply under this stream, a candidate should be working in Manitoba. 

Skilled Worker Overseas

No. of skilled workers overseas invited: 13 Score of the lowest-ranking candidate: 672 Candidates who are working abroad can apply for MPNP through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. People who have a strong connection with Manitoba have a greater chance of receiving an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination through this stream. The connection can be in terms of education, previous work experience in Manitoba, or close family ties. Please note: If a candidate is applying through the skilled worker overseas stream, it is not mandatory for him/her to be physically present in Manitoba while submitting an application. He/She can apply from any part of the world.  

Express Entry Candidates Invited

No. of candidates invited: 17 Candidates who have profiles in the express entry pool are invited by the province of Manitoba to apply for a provincial nomination. Candidates can apply to express entry system through the three major economy class programs- Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker, and Federal Skilled Trades.  Candidates who get a provincial nomination from Manitoba will receive 600 additional points.
