A total number of 633 candidates were invited in the latest draw that was held by Saskatchewan on November 18.
The province of Saskatchewan was on a two months hiatus since it had last held a draw inviting candidates for a PNP. This time the draw held was the largest of this year and issued 633 invitations.
The SINP Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program is again divided into two categories. It invites candidates from the Express Entry category and Occupations In-Demand category. 425 invited candidates were from Express Entry Stream while the rest invited met the eligibility requirement of the Occupation In-Demand category
The lowest score of the invited candidates went down to 65 points. This was noted in Saskatchewan’s EOI (Expression of Interest) system of ranking.
For the in-demand occupations sub-category, there were a total of 14 job profiles eligible for the stream listed on the government website of the province of Saskatchewan.
An Educational Credential Assessment was also required by both these groups to prove that their international education standard matched with the Canadian education system.
What is Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category?
The Express Entry sub-category of the province of Saskatchewan is a more advanced PNP which indicates that it is linked to the Centre’s Express Entry System.
There are economic-class immigration pathways that the Express Entry manages. These are- (Canadian Experience Class) CEC, (Federal Skilled Worker Program) FSWP, and (Federal Skilled Trades Program) FSTP.
Expression of Interest profiles should be created by the candidates who have an Express Entry profile as well. Without an EOI a candidate shall not be eligible to receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for a provincial nomination in any of the Canadian provinces.
It must also be noted that the candidates who are in the Express Entry Pool and chosen by a particular province for a PNP shall be liable to receive an extra 600 points. These points will then be added to their original CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score and definitely increase their chance of getting to apply for Canadian permanent residency status.
What is the Occupations In-Demand subcategory?
While the Express Entry subcategory was an advanced one, occupations in-demand is a base provincial nominee program. It indicates that this stream is dedicated to individuals who do not hold a profile in the Express Entry System.
This is created for laborers who are skilled and have experience in an in-demand job profile in the region of Saskatchewan and do not have a job offer till now.
The eligibility requirement to apply for this sub-category is that the candidates will have to build an Expression of Interest profile online, on the SINP website.
Following this, the candidates shall be selected by the Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system considering the potential of the candidate and the possibility to have a vibrant future. The decision is taken after analyzing substantial factors like- job profile, previous experience in Canada, education, language proficiency, age, and connections of the candidate in the province of Saskatchewan so that it is easier for them to settle down.
