An overview of Express Entry
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are three crucial immigration programs that are managed by Express Entry, a streamlined method for managing immigration applications. These initiatives make up a number of the most sought-after routes for economic immigration to Canada.
Candidates go through a thorough evaluation of their human capital traits, which takes into account things like job history, area of specialization, language ability, educational background, and age. This evaluation results in a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS), which ranks candidates by giving them a numerical number.
As each draw takes place, candidates with the highest CRS scores that exceed the draw’s cut-off point have an enhanced likelihood of receiving ITAs for permanent residency.
The IRCC changed its selection criteria on May 31st, putting more emphasis on candidates’ specific professional and demographic traits rather than just the CRS score. This modification resulted in the creation of six brand-new categories for Express Entry applicants:
- STEM professions
- Agriculture and agri-food
- Trades
- Healthcare
- Transport
- French-language proficiency
The objective of these categories is to address pressing employment vacancies within the Canadian labor force and encourage the adoption of the French language beyond Quebec.
