On August 20, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) invited 602 high-earning and high-scoring candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
The invitations came under the province’s ‘innovate’ objective, which focuses on skilled workers across different occupations and sectors.
The latest draw was British Columbia’s largest selection round of 2026. It came shortly after the province received 1,000 additional nomination spaces for the year, raising its total allocation to 6,254.
Draw Details
The latest selection was the BCPNP’s 20th draw of the year. Candidates were selected based on the wage linked to a TEER 0 – 3 job offer or their registration score.
More than half of the invitations, or 59.98%, went to candidates with high-paying job offers:

The draw also had the highest share of registration-score invitations among all Skills Immigration draws held by the BCPNP in 2026.
With this draw, British Columbia has issued 3,260 invitations based on wage, job offer, and registration score criteria this year.
Permanent Residence Through The BCPNP
Foreign nationals seeking permanent residence through the BCPNP must first submit a registration through the BCPNP Online User Portal.
The province gives each profile a score based on factors such as work experience, language skills, and the wage offered in the job.
Candidates then enter a registration pool. The province holds selection rounds and invites candidates based on different factors, including:
- Education – level and field, as well as location of completion
- Professional designation in the province
- Language ability
- Occupation
- Registration score
- Wage and/or skill level of one’s job offer
- Duration and skill level of one’s work experience
- Intention to work and reside in a specific BC region
- Strategic priorities aligned with provincial labour market demands or projects/initiatives
The province has held 12 Skills Immigration selection rounds so far in 2026. Seven were based on wage, job offers, and points, while four focused on specific occupations. One July round targeted cleaners and security workers through the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative.
Invited candidates must submit a complete application within 30 days. Successful applicants receive a provincial nomination certificate, which can then support their application for permanent residence to the federal government.
As of August 20, British Columbia had issued at least 4,926 invitations to skilled workers and entrepreneurs during 2026.
