The Government of New Brunswick has selected 203 workers to move to the next stage of the immigration process under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
The province held three draws on October 2, October 9 and October 29, selecting workers in several sectors, including construction, health care and manufacturing, to have their endorsement applications processed.
What Happens After Selection?
Candidates whose endorsement applications are approved will receive an endorsement certificate. This certificate allows them to apply for permanent residence through the federal government.
An AIP endorsement can also help eligible workers apply for a two-year, employer-specific work permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Workers who apply for this permit before their current work permit expires may continue working under maintained status. They must remain in Canada while waiting for a decision and follow the conditions of their previous permit.
Which Workers Were Selected?
New Brunswick selected workers from the following occupational categories in its latest draws:
- Construction.
- Education, social and community services.
- Health care.
- Manufacturing.
- Other trades.
- Professional and IT.
- Sales and services.
- Transportation.
The province listed October 1, October 9 and October 28, 2026, as the respective cut-off dates for the three draws. The cut-off time was 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time for all three rounds.
To qualify for consideration under the AIP, candidates must have a job offer from an employer designated by the province.
Following the latest draws, New Brunswick has selected 898 AIP candidates for application processing across nine announced selection rounds.
| Date Of Draw(s) | Number Of Applications Selected For Processing |
| Oct. 2 + Oct. 9 + Oct. 29 | 203 |
| Sept. 25 + Oct. 2 | 63 |
| Sept. 10 | 60 |
| Aug. 10 + Aug. 20 | 68 |
| July 22 | 114 |
| June 3 | 97 |
| May 1 | 50 |
| April 1 | 118 |
| Mar. 3-6 | 125 |
Unlike its Provincial Nominee Program draws, which invite candidates to apply, New Brunswick’s AIP draws identify which submitted endorsement applications will move forward for assessment.
Which AIP Applications Can Be Submitted?
In an October 14 update, New Brunswick confirmed that it was accepting AIP endorsement applications for all eligible occupations, except:
- Fish and seafood plant workers (94142).
- Food service supervisors (62020).
- Restaurant and food service managers (60030).
- Shippers and receivers (14400).
The province also confirmed that applications involving job offers for foreign nationals living outside Canada remain limited to government-led recruitment initiatives in three sectors:
- Health care.
- Education.
- Construction.
