The Canadian government’s International Experience Canada Program will accept more applicants next year. The program will begin on 9 January 2023, according to a press conference today in Banff, Alberta.
Under the IEC program, youth between the age of 18 and 35 living in any of Canada’s 36 partner nations can travel and work here for up to 2 years and vice versa. 9th January 2023, will see the addition of almost 15,000 slots or 20%. According to a statement, “nearly 90,000 people can work and travel in Canada, including Francophone Youth, thus helping employees to fill labor shortage such as seasonal jobs in Canada’s tourism industry”.
The ministry of immigration is assisting more foreigners in working and traveling in Canada, which will help companies, mostly in the tourism industry, locate the personnel they need, says Fraser, minister of immigration. By providing opportunities for youth to experience international travel and employment, we are boosting our economy and assisting our businesses, particularly in regions like Banff that require seasonal labor.
Canada will, in the end, be able to achieve two highly desired objectives through the upcoming IEC program modification: assisting employers in finding the workers they need and assisting youth in exploring new cultures, languages, and societies, while developing life skills and improving their career prospects.
