Saskatchewan uses 26% of 2026 immigration quota, i.e., the Government of Saskatchewan has shared new data on how many nominations have been issued through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program in 2026.
As of now, the province has used about 26% of its total nomination allocation for the year, which is 4,761 spots.
Saskatchewan updates this data every three months. This is the first update for 2026, as the province does not regularly publish draw results like some other provinces.
SINP Nomination Numbers So Far
The SINP has divided its yearly nominations into three main groups:
- Priority sectors (2,380)
- Capped sectors (1,190)
- Other sectors (1,190)
Note: A capped sector means there is a limit on how many nominations can be issued in that area. This helps control demand and balance the job market. The three capped sectors are:
- Accommodation and food services,
- Retail, trade, and other services, and
- Trucking.
The table below shows how many nominations have been issued in each sector so far:
| Sector | Nominations Issued | Percentage Of 2026 Allocation (by sector) |
| Priority sectors | 689 | 50% |
| Capped sector: Accommodation and food services | 188 | 15% |
| Capped sector: Retail, trade, and other services | 74 | 5% |
| Capped sector: Trucking | 46 | 5% |
| Other sectors | 226 | 25% |
In total, Saskatchewan has issued 1,223 nominations so far. This means 3,538 nomination spots are still available for the rest of the year.
The table below shows how nominations are divided for 2026 and how much has been used so far:
| Sector | Percentage Of 2026 Nomination | Number Of Allotted Spots | Percentage Of Provincial Allocation Used To Date |

Out of the total spots in priority sectors, 750 are reserved for students who graduated from institutions in Saskatchewan and are working in these fields.
“Other sectors” include all industries that do not fall under priority or capped groups.
Upcoming Intake Dates
Saskatchewan has set fixed intake dates for capped sectors. These dates allow employers to submit applications when spots open.
In 2026, there are six intake periods. Two have already opened, and one of them has already closed:
- Intake 1: January 20.
- Intake 2: March 2.
- Intake 3: May 4
- Will open at 8:30 a.m. CST for the Trucking sector and the Retail, trade, and other services sector.
- Will open at 12:30 p.m. CST for the Accommodation and food services sector.
- Intake 4: July 6.
- Intake 5: September 7.
- Intake 6: November 2.
Employers in capped sectors can only apply during these intake periods. They can do so only if the worker’s work permit will be valid for six months or less.
For priority and other sectors, there are no such time limits. Employers can submit applications at any time during the year.
