Alberta issues new invitations in key job sectors, i.e., the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held four immigration draws between April 8 and April 14, 2026. In total, 332 invitations were issued to candidates under different streams and pathways.
Invitations were issued through the following streams and pathways:
- Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors pathway (Construction and skilled trades)
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry
- Rural Renewal Stream
As of now, the AAIP has completed 27 draws in 2026. Most invitations this year have been issued through the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
These draws came after five earlier rounds held between March 17 and March 27, which together issued more than 290 invitations.
Details Of The April 8 – 14 Draws
The latest draws focused on candidates working in technology, construction and skilled trades, health care, and rural areas.
The draw held on April 8 under the Accelerated Tech Pathway issued the highest number of invitations, making up 43% of the total.
Cutoff scores and the number of invitations varied by draw:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has given Alberta 6,403 nomination spaces for 2026.
By April 15, the province had already used 1,634 nominations. This means 4,769 nomination spots are still available.
At the same time, there are 1,535 applications waiting to be processed under different AAIP streams.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream has received the highest share of nominations this year. It accounts for 53.5% of the total allocation.
EOI Pool And Pending Applications
The AAIP also provides data on how many candidates are in the selection pool and how many applications are still under review.
As of April 15, there were 42,373 worker Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in the pool. This number does not include entrepreneur streams.
Out of all EOIs, 64.2% belong to the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
