IRCC plan some major changes in the super visa of Parents and Grand Parents which is effective from 4 July 2022.
The changes will be given below:
- The time of stay will be increased to five years per entry for those who have super visas.
- Those who have super visas are eligible to request to extend their living up to two years in Canada. It means the existing super visa holder can live in Canada now.
- The Immigration Minister of Canada will have the power to nominate the international medical insurance to cover the application for a super visa in the future.
Currently, those who have super visas are eligible to stay up to two years per entry in Canada. The super visa can be durable for up to ten years and it is also a multi-entry visa in Canada.
At present, only insurance in Canada is provide the medical coverage that is required to have an applicant. Further details will be announced later by IRCC.
Kyle Seeback a member of the Canadian parliament of the conservative party proposed these changes through Bill C-242. It is indicated by the IRCC that Canada’s ruling Liberal Party supports these changes and they are in the support of Bill-242.
As per the IRCC report, every year 17,000 super visa holders are invited by Canada.
For more than a decade, the super visa a considered a substitute for the PGP (Parents and Grandparents Program). The PGP provides permanent residence but due to its popularity, it demands sponsoring more than the number of places available. There is more than 200,000 interest received by the IRCC but they provide 20,000 migration places through the PGP.
Those candidates who clear a medical examination and give proof of private health insurance are qualified for the super visa. If the super visa holder has health insurance, then they are able to get emergency health care in Canada and they don’t need to pay any amount for this. Additionally, grandchildren have to full fill the minimum eligibility of income that is required.
Families are very important to the community of Canada. The increment in stay time for the super visa holder allows their family to stay for longer in Canada. Immigration Minister said that enhancing the system of super visas will help in the success of every Canadian citizen and permanent residence and affording their parents and grandparents.
