British Columbia Issued Large No. Of Invitations In Recent Draw

British Columbia has held the latest PNP draw on June 2, 2020, for a provincial nomination. The province issued invitations to 241 Skilled Workers and International Graduates. And another 38 invitations went to candidates belonging to entrepreneur streams. The invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were received under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia streams of the BC Provincial Nominee Program. The provincial score requirements for each subcategory are listed below:

The province issued invitations to those candidates who had registered profiles under the federal Express Entry System. Also, candidates who successfully receive a provincial nomination from British Columbia will get 600 points added to their Comprehensive Ranking System score.

British Columbia Express Entry Stream

The Express Entry stream of British Columbia is linked with the federal Express Entry system. Interested candidates can apply to the British Columbia PNP under the following sub-categories of the Express Entry BC:

- Skilled Workers;
- International Graduates; and
- International post-graduates

Skills Immigration

Skills Immigration is not linked with the federal express entry system. Skilled workers, International Graduates, and Post-graduates can apply through this stream directly under the BC Provincial Nominee Program. Also Read: How to Move to Canada through Express Entry?

Invitations issued through Entrepreneur Streams

British Columbia invited 28 entrepreneurs through the Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category of the BC Provincial Nominee Program. The minimum score required for this category was 121. Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category: The BC PNP provides a different stream for entrepreneurs to immigrate to British Columbia and establish their business there. Entrepreneur candidates are selected based on various factors such as their education, business experience, business idea, net worth, and total investment. 9 Invitations were issued to Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot candidates and the minimum score required was 118 points. Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot: It was launched in 2019 to provide a pathway for immigration to those foreign nationals who are looking to start a new business in the smaller communities spread across British Columbia.
