Recently, Alberta PNP has become the fourth most popular immigration pathway to Canada for newcomers. If you are someone looking to immigrate to Canada and do not have a job offer yet, you may want to try the Alberta Express Entry stream.
With the extreme popularity of the Express Entry system, there is another pathway to move to the Great White North – The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
CRS Comprehensive Ranking System is used by the Express Entry that calculates the total score of a candidate according to the human capital factors and reasons. Although even in the Express Entry the candidates do not necessarily require an employment offer. Having a job offer will only increase the chances of getting an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for a Canadian PR status.
Provincial Nominee Programs were designed specifically to even out the concentration of benefits through the country among the refugees and immigrants. Through a PNP a province or a territory of Canada holds the power to choose the newcomers who wish to come and settle in Canadian provinces. Each province has a different PNP that fits the requirements of that particular province, they also construct their own set of eligibility criteria for the candidates.
The province or the territory is required to nominate a candidate to apply for a PNP.
All the PNPs of the provinces should have at least one nomination stream regulated by the Express Entry of the federal government.
In this case, the Alberta Express Entry stream is a pathway that helps immigrants to move to Canada even if they do not have a job offer already.
Along with Alberta PNP, there are other pathways too that do not demand a job offer in the process of immigration. For instance, Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Alberta is the fourth largest province of Canada and a popular destination among newcomers. Alberta has two very prominent cities- Calgary and Edmonton.
The population estimate figure of the province found out that every year nearly 40,000 immigrants are accepted in Alberta. 13 percent of the province’s total population is made up of immigrants, being the third-largest in Canada. The first largest is Ontario with 44.7 percent while British Columbia is in the second position with 15.8 percent. Currently, Alberta cradles a population of 4.5 million people and is a huge contributor to Canada’s economy in Oil, Natural Gas, and Mining sectors.
