The previous year, Canada generated 450,000 PR for new international students, an all the time record.
For this reason, Canada is becoming an increasingly popular destination for foreign students including the country’s high quality of education, security, safety, and multiculturism.
The PGWP provides an opportunity to foreign students to get additional work experience in Canada, which could improve their odds of eventually obtaining Canadian permanent residency. In fact, in several provinces of Canada, more than 100 economic class immigration programs cater to international students. Research by the Canadian government shows that former international students do well in the labor market after obtaining permanent residency because they are young well educated with great skills, speak fluent English or French, and most important they have work experience in Canada.
