Ontario has invited 21 entrepreneurs through OINP

Ontario is the most well-known province among immigrants. In the latest Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program draw, the province has invited 21 entrepreneurs to submit a provincial nomination application. Candidates were invited through the Entrepreneur Stream of the OINP. Invited candidates were given scores by the province according to the Expression of Interest profiles. Candidates who were invited had scores in the range of 142 and 200. The province will contact candidates who have received invitations through two emails. In one email, candidates will get the login information and in another email, they will be provided with instructions regarding the application process. This is for the fifth time that Ontario has held Entrepreneur Draw this year. The total number of entrepreneurs invited by Ontario this year has become 112 with this draw. The eligibility requirements for the Ontario Entrepreneur stream differs on the basis of the location of the business proposed. As per the recent reforms, the minimum net worth has been reduced by the government. Now, in the Greater Toronto Area, the candidate needs a net worth of $800,000 for a proposed business and the investment amount has also been lowered from $1 million to $600,000. The net worth and investment have been reduced outside the Greater Toronto Area as well. The work experience required by entrepreneurs is also reduced. Now, the candidates require at least 24 months of work experience in business as an owner or manager.

Eligibility requirements for entrepreneur stream

The entrepreneur stream was initiated by Ontario with an objective to attract new immigrants who want to start a new business or buy an established one.
