Newfoundland and Labrador invites more immigrants this week, i.e., the province continues to welcome newcomers through its provincial immigration pathways, sending out another round of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) this week to candidates ready to contribute to the province’s economy and communities.
These latest invitations were issued through both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Together, these programs are key parts of the province’s strategy to attract skilled workers, fill labour gaps, and support economic growth in the region.
This round of invitations is the province’s fourth since transitioning both programs to an Expression of Interest (EOI) system, which aims to make the process clearer and more streamlined for applicants and employers alike.
Results Of The Latest Draw
On June 24, 2025, the province conducted two separate draws:
| Program | Number Of Invitations Issued |
| NLPNP | 257 |
| AIP | 63 |
In total, Newfoundland and Labrador issued 320 invitations this round. While this is the second lowest number of invitations issued since the province began publishing its draw results this April, it still demonstrates Newfoundland and Labrador’s steady effort to bring new talent to the province.
Looking back at previous rounds this year, the province invited:
- 405 candidates on May 29
- 328 candidates on May 8
- 256 candidates on April 3
Altogether in 2025 so far, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued 1,095 invitations through its PNP and another 214 through its AIP, bringing this year’s combined total to 1,309 invitations for provincial immigration.
Like other provinces and territories, Newfoundland and Labrador’s allocation for economic immigration was initially cut by the federal government for 2025. However, recognizing the province’s unique needs and priorities, Newfoundland and Labrador successfully negotiated an additional 1,000 nomination spaces for its Provincial Nominee Program earlier this year.
The province’s original PNP allocation for 2025 was 1,050 spaces — a sharp drop from 2,100 in 2024. Thanks to the February agreement, Newfoundland and Labrador’s PNP allocation for this year now stands at 2,050 nomination spaces.
The province’s allocation under the AIP remains unchanged at 475 spaces for the year.
At this point in 2025, Newfoundland and Labrador still has 1,216 nomination spaces remaining under its PNP and 261 spaces left for its AIP stream — a sign that more draws can be expected in the coming months.
How Does Newfoundland And Labrador’s EOI System Work?
Newfoundland and Labrador invites more immigrants this week. To be considered for either the PNP or AIP, foreign nationals must submit an EOI through the province’s Immigration Accelerator.
A key requirement for many candidates is securing an employer invite code. This unique code validates a candidate’s job offer. It also ensures that employer Designations and Job Vacancy Assessments are being used correctly. Without this code, candidates cannot submit an EOI — with one exception: PNP candidates who are already living in Canada do not need an employer invite code to complete their EOI.
Once submitted, an EOI remains active in the system for 12 months. If there are any changes to the candidate’s information they must update their EOI profile to ensure accuracy.
Candidates do not receive status updates while waiting. If selected, the province will notify them by email with an Invitation to Apply. Once they have received an ITA, they must submit a complete application for provincial immigration within 60 days.
It is important to remember that getting an ITA is not an automatic guarantee of provincial nomination. Candidates must still meet all program requirements, be admissible to Canada, and comply with all related provincial immigration policies for their application to be approved.
Before moving to this EOI system, foreign nationals could apply directly to the province. The new system aims to better manage applications and connect qualified workers with local employers who need them most.
