Newfoundland and Labrador holds a new immigration draw, i.e., on July 10, the province issued 57 invitations under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
This was the eighth provincial immigration draw held by Newfoundland and Labrador in 2026. It was also the smallest invitation round conducted by the province so far this year.
Draw Details
| Program | Invitations Issued |
| NLPNP | 17 |
| AIP | 40 |
This was the first draw since September 2025 in which more invitations were issued through the Atlantic Immigration Program than the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program. Around 70.2% of all invitations in this round went to AIP candidates.
The province did not release any details about the specific NLPNP streams or occupations selected in this draw.
According to Newfoundland and Labrador’s Expression of Interest (EOI) selection criteria, the province may give priority to candidates working in healthcare, sales and service occupations, rural communities, and other occupations where labour shortages exist.
Apart from the slight increase seen during the June 10 draw, the number of ITAs has generally decreased throughout 2026. The July 10 draw recorded the lowest number of invitations issued this year.
| Date Of Draw | Invitations Issued | Invitations Issued By Program |
| March 6, 2026 | 445 | NLPNP – 362 AIP – 83 |

As of July 10, Newfoundland and Labrador has invited a total of 1,544 candidates through the NLPNP and the Atlantic Immigration Program in 2026.
Most invitations issued this year have gone to NLPNP candidates, accounting for approximately 81.8% of all invitations.
How Candidates Can Be Considered For The NLPNP Or AIP?
Anyone interested in immigrating through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program or the Atlantic Immigration Program must first submit an online Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism’s Immigration Accelerator Portal.
For most streams under both programs, candidates must first receive a valid job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador before submitting an Expression of Interest. The main exception is the entrepreneur streams under the NLPNP.
When submitting an EOI, candidates provide information about their education, work experience, language ability, and plans to settle in the province. The province then places eligible candidates into the EOI pool.
Newfoundland and Labrador may give preference to candidates who:
- Work in healthcare occupations.
- Have employment opportunities outside major urban centres.
- Show strong long-term settlement plans.
- Have previous education or other connections to the province.
The province provides complete details about these selection factors through its Expression of Interest prioritization guidelines.
From time to time, the province selects the highest-ranking candidates from the EOI pool and issues invitations during provincial immigration draws.
After receiving an invitation, candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application.
For the NLPNP, applicants submit their own provincial nomination application. Under the Atlantic Immigration Program, the employer submits the endorsement application on behalf of the candidate.
If the province approves the application, successful candidates receive either:
- A provincial nomination certificate under the NLPNP; or
- An endorsement certificate under the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Candidates can then submit their permanent residence application to the federal government. Once approved, they receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
Current Application Timelines
| Application Type | Current Timeline (July 7) |
| Base PNP | 12 months |
| Enhanced PNP | 7 months |
| AIP | 26 months |
Candidates whose Expression of Interest remains active for 12 months without receiving an invitation must submit a new profile to remain eligible. For Atlantic Immigration Program applicants, the employer must submit a new Expression of Interest on the candidate’s behalf.
Newfoundland & Labrador continues to use targeted invitation rounds to address labour shortages across the province. Although the latest draw was the smallest of the year, it shows that the province remains committed to selecting skilled workers who can support local employers & contribute to long-term economic growth.
