Through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invitations have been sent to 627 international students who have already graduated, to apply for the Master’s Graduate Stream. 64 invitations have been sent to the candidates who might be eligible for a Ph.D. Graduate Stream.

- For a Master’s Graduate the minimum required score of 35;
- A Ph.D. graduate would need the least score of 16.
After Ontario has recently adopted an Expression of Interest (EOI) System for its provincial programs, the Master’s Graduate stream is the third-largest draw in Ontario. Express Entry System is not taken into consideration for this stream. While the second-largest draw was for the Ph.D. Graduate stream.
With all the data provided it is clear that Master Graduate draws have a higher score requirement as compared to the Master students. Whereas, the number of Master graduates is in thousands while the Ph.D. graduates are only hundreds in number.
Ontario’s Master’s Graduate Stream
To be eligible for a Master’s Graduate stream, you first need to sign an e-filling portal on the official website of Ontario. You then have to register an Expression of Interest to be allowed for the graduate stream.
Invitations are sent to the candidates with potential for a provincial nomination. The provincial nomination contributes greatly to attain a permanent residence in Canada.
You have a time limitation of two years after graduating to apply for a PR in Canada. Having a job offer in this case is not required.

The EOI profiles are analyzed and ranked according to several factors by Ontario. The factors such as the number of human capital and skill level job offer and your work experience in the Maple country as well. Ontario specifically admits to inviting candidates who will likely to be successful and contribute to the country.
The specific stream that you apply for will have a unique scoring system. The OINP scoring system for each stream will vary. The province grants 10 points following the labor market needs. In some cases, it also takes your wage, education, official language ability, and region you live and work into consideration.
