Manitoba sends more invitations to skilled workers in 2025. Selected candidates received invitations from the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) based on a mix of skilled work experience, profile scores, and their involvement in strategic hiring initiatives.
Latest MPNP Draw Overview
Manitoba sends more invitations to skilled workers in 2025. On May 29, the MPNP held a draw through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. It issued a total of 30 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to eligible candidates.
To be eligible for this round, candidates had to meet the following criteria:
- A minimum score of 606 on the MPNP’s internal points-based system
- An invitation to submit a profile via a strategic recruitment initiative
Out of the 30 total LAAs, five were issued to candidates who had active Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.
The MPNP notes that some candidates might not have received an LAA due to incomplete or outdated information. Reasons may include:
- Not providing a valid test number for their approved third-party language test or using expired results at the time of the draw
- Failing to submit a valid invitation number despite claiming to have received one under a strategic recruitment initiative
Strategic recruitment initiatives are employer-driven and help employers in Manitoba identify and nominate foreign talent who possess high-demand skills. These processes are crucial in filling long-standing labor shortages while offering candidates a pathway to permanent residency in Canada.
MPNP’s Progress And Quota For 2025
Similar to other Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) across Canada, Manitoba’s nomination numbers have been affected by a reduction in the federal immigration targets for this year. The IRCC’s decision to cut PNP landing targets by 50% has led Manitoba to operate with a reduced allocation for 2025.
For this year, the MPNP has a total allocation of 4,750 provincial nominations.
According to data published monthly by the MPNP website, more than 1,840 nominations have already been issued in 2025. Also, this leaves approximately 2,910 nomination spots available for the rest of the year.
Although the provincial allocation has been reduced, it’s worth noting that certain provinces have successfully negotiated with the federal government to increase their nomination numbers. Whether Manitoba will pursue or achieve a similar adjustment remains to be seen.
