Canada has implemented a new electronic process that will speed up the landing process for permanent resident applicants.
Through this new system, most of the new applicants can get the status of a permanent resident without attending any in-person interviews.
The Government of Canada has started this new process due to the circumstances created by the pandemic. The Immigration Minister of Canada, Marco Mendicino, believes that this new measure has reduced the total time that Canada used to take for the landing process of new permanent residents.
With the help of this new portal, new permanent residents can share their information with the IRCC. They can confirm their current address and submit a recent photo for the Permanent Resident Card.
However, it should be noted that this portal is different from the IRCC’s secure account where permanent resident applicants are allowed to update their submitted information.

The new portal was created by Deloitte and the immigration ministry issued invitations to permanent residence applicants in October in order to test the functioning of the portal.
