Ukrainian refugees and their families who are arriving in Canada are now qualified for one-time assistance help of $3000 per adult and $1,500 per child age 17 or under.
These funds will be meant for Ukrainians with valid CUAET. Candidates will submit the application through the online portal of Canada’s government.
Some requirements are given below to be eligible for financial assistance from Canada’s federal government:
- Candidates need an IMM 1442 form such as (a visitor record, a study permit, or a work permit), that contains the “CUEAET-AVUCU” remark which is provided by the CBSA while entering Canada.
- Candidates must have a UCI (unique client identifier) number to be eligible for this assistance.
- Candidates have to provide deposit information for Canadian financial assistance.
Payments are supposed to be released via direct deposit. It will be processed within five business days of the submitted application. The bank may require three to five days to process the payments. Ukrainian applicants must have a Canadian bank account to get government assistance. The name of candidates linked with the bank should be the same on the temporary residence status documents. The government of Canada advised the Ukrainian applicants to get a SIN number as soon as possible if they want to be eligible to work in Canada.
Additionally, the government of Canada has to offer three charter flights from Poland, the third flight landed in Halifax on 2 June. Ukrainians who arrived in Canada will get 14 days of accommodations to those who do not other arrangements. The government of Canada is working on spreading this measure to other cities in Canada. Those Ukrainians who want to settle in Canada is offered settlement service like language training, help in opening a bank account, admission of children to school, and finding a job.
Fraser says that their commitment to Ukrainians who go through the illegal war with Russia does not stop after they arrived in Canada. The government of Canada will continue to provide help to those who are looking for refuge and live in communities in Canada. This one-time financial help will be important for immediate help to those Ukrainians who faced Challenges and left many things to find a safe place in Canada.
More than 259000 CUAET applications were received between 17 March to 25 May and more than 120600 applications were approved by IRCC.
