Applicants were accepted to the Express Entry program in Canada on September 14 based on a CRS score of 510, not 511, as had been originally stated.
At least 510 points were required for applicants to earn an invitation to apply (ITA). While still very high compared to prior all-program draws. This is the lowest score since these draws started again on July 6.
Toward the end of the afternoon, Eastern Time on Wednesday, IRCC changed its ministerial instructions. A few people posted online that they earned ITAs with a 510 score, even though the minimal CRS score was 511.
This draw was open to all Express Entry programs, so the highest-scoring applicants from each were eligible to win an ITA. As part of Express Entry’s programs, FSTP – (Federal Skilled Trade Program), FSWP (Federal Skilled Workers Program), as well as CEC – (Canadian Experience Class) are provided. All Express Entry draws will be conducted again by the IRCC starting in December 2020. Those who met the requirements for the CEC or the PNP were only permitted to apply during this time. September 2021 was the next month when CEC draws were also suspended.
Since July 6, CRS scores have been in the 500s in draws throughout the whole program. Increasing draw sizes have been associated with lower CRS cutoffs.
So far this year, Express Entry has accepted approximately 40,785 immigrants. It is estimated that 55,900 Express Entry applicants will be received by the IRCC during the period 2022-2024. According to the Immigration Levels Plan for 2022-2024.
