According to IRCC, 3500 ITAs are issued in an all-program Express Entry draw to qualified candidates in the Eleventh Express Entry draw of 2023. Applicants need to score at least 483 to be qualified for this draw. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), FSTP, and CEC candidates are all considered for the all-program draw.
An all-program draw took place on April 12 and 3,500 candidates received invitations (ITAs). Candidates for such positions needed a CRS score of at least 486, in order to qualify.
Instead of the usual biweekly draw each Tuesday, 7,000 candidates were invited each week on March 15, March 23, and March 29, while half were invited on April 12. Furthermore, the required CRS score was raised from 481 to 486. There are more similarities between these draws. And earlier ones from early 2022 and early 2023 in terms of size and CRS score.
Express Entry milestones for March
March of this year saw the issuance of over 21,000 ITAs. According to Express Entry, it issued the second-largest number of ITAs ever.
It was the largest number of ITAs ever issued in a single month when 27,332 CEC applicants were invited in February 2021.
Still, 7,000 hopefuls participated in the original March draw, which was the biggest for the entire program. Within two weeks, 21,000 candidates were invited to the next two draws, and 21,667 invitations were issued overall. The remaining 667 ITAs were given out on March 1 only to applicants for the PNP – (Provincial Nominee Program).
Moreover, as part of the Express Entry program, four draws have been held in March, one every week. It’s uncommon for draws to be held on Wednesdays every two weeks; most are held on Mondays.
An Overview of Express Entry
It is possible to think of Express Entry as a digital system for managing immigration applications with three main immigration programs for different economic classes. They include the FSWP, the CEC, and the FSTP. In addition to choosing suitable applicants for permanent residence, IRCC can also select them through these programs. Their selection is based on the CRS. The Comprehensive Ranking System scores each candidate in the pool. And those with the highest scores and qualifications are invited to apply.
This type of program is recommended for highly skilled participants who have a good chance of establishing themselves economically in Canada. In Express Entry, applicants are evaluated using the Comprehensive Ranking System based on work experience, occupation, language proficiency, and education. With high scores, those who receive an ITA in a future Express Entry draw are more likely to receive an invitation to apply.
An ITA must be submitted within 60 days of receiving a final application for permanent residency to IRCC. Whether a permanent residency permit is granted depends on the official who reviews the application.
