This week Canada’s four provinces British Columbia, Alberta, PEI, and Quebec unveil recent PNP draws results between January 14 to 20 by sending out ITA through their immigration programs. Moreover, Alberta and Quebec’s draw were recently carried out in December.
An application for the PNP – (Provincial Nominee Program) may benefit individuals who want to live in Canada permanently. Successful candidates can receive nominations from these programs in most provinces and territories, except for Quebec and Nunavut.
Among the provinces in Canada, only Quebec has full authority over the selection of immigrants from economic classes. Because of Quebec’s autonomy, the province can design and manage its unique immigration programs. Quebec’s immigration programs enable it to select immigrants who are best suited to meet the province’s labor market needs and promote its socioeconomic and cultural goals. Potential immigrants who wish to settle in Quebec must first meet the criteria established by the province through its immigration programs before being eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Over 105,000 permanent resident admissions have been enabled by the PNP annually since its inception in 1998. The purpose of this program is to strengthen economic development outside major cities and urban centers by collaborating between the federal and provincial governments. Due to the PNP’s effectiveness, admissions have been rising consistently since the program’s commencement. People who would like to move to Canada benefit themselves and their communities due to the program.
Canada’s recent provincial migration results between the 14th to 20th of January
Alberta
A total of 129 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued on December 8 through Alberta Express Entry Stream under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Applicants must have a score of 305 on the CRS.
According to the province, when Express Entry candidates from the AAIP are invited to the draws from the federal pool, high-demand jobs and close family ties will be considered.
AAIP streams still require the exact eligibility requirements.
Quebec
Quebec announced the opening of permanent selection applications for 1047 skilled workers on December 15. Results were released only this week.
It was preferred if candidates had occupations associated with particular NOCs and had work offers outside the Montreal Metropolitan Community.
Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) applicants received invitations from the MIFI. A maximum of 60 days is given to applicants invited by Quebec to submit their application, along with processing fees. Complete applications are expected to be processed within six months of receiving all the required information. This area encompasses paperwork and forms.
British Columbia
On January 17th, 187 individuals submitted applications for a provincial nomination in British Columbia. An open call for tech occupations resulted in 154 candidates being invited. Applicants from the Express Entry pool, those at the entry-level, semi-skilled, and skilled worker levels, and those in the international graduate category were invited.
For skilled workers and international graduates, a SIRS score of 105 was necessary. Also, Entry-level and semi-skilled individuals needed scores of 82. Similar to Express Entry CRS, this system only applies to the BCPNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program).
Besides the occupations listed above, the province also invited candidates for the following jobs:
- 18 assistants and teachers of young children who received at least 60 points.
- 15 healthcare professionals with scores of at least 60 points in the category for skilled employees, graduates from other countries, and Express Entry.
- Additional sought-after professions with scores of at least 60 points.
PEI – (Prince Edward Island)
BWPE (Business Work Permit Entrepreneur) was offered to seven applicants as part of PEI PNP (Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program). Moreover, this stream provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to start or expand a business in PEI. As part of the invitation process, over 216 applicants were asked to apply through the Labor and Express Entry streams.
2023 saw the initial announcement of the PEI PNP. The province typically conducts a draw every month. To be considered for nomination in Prince Edward Island through the Express Entry system, prospective candidates must submit a separate EOI document.
