Getting a Canadian permanent resident visa is believed to be easiest through the Provincial Nominee Program. The latest PNP draw was announced by four Canadian Provinces. This week Manitoba, PEI, BC, and Saskatchewan conducted their PNP draw.
Due to its success, the PNP now accepts more than 80,000 migrants yearly. It was initially launched in 1998 with only 400 immigrants. The federal and provincial government’s view of PNP admissions as valuable tools for developing the economy has increased their numbers.
Except for Nunavut and Quebec, most Canadian provinces have their own PNP program that is run by their own government. These programs may invite candidates who are interested in becoming nominated for nomination by the province to submit an application for a nomination through these programs.
PNP draw results from September 9 to 16
PEI (Prince Edward Island)
Through Express Entry and Labor streams, five business work permit entrepreneurs were invited on 15 September, and 142 candidates were invited through Labor. Those who wish to enroll in PEI through Express Entry will have to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) separately.
Express Entry profiles are rated using a comprehensive ranking system (CRS), and based on their scores, the highest scoring applicants are invited to apply via a monthly draw.
Manitoba
A total of 9 invitations were issued to eligible candidates under the Ukraine Special Immigration Measure. It is important to note that as a result of the continuing Ukrainian situation and the subsequent refugees, IRCC has developed a Canada Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET).
A minimum set of qualifications must be met for candidates to qualify for the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program. Through the MPNP, only those who:
- Your nationality is Ukrainian
- Each language band must have at least CLB 4
- An established connection to Manitoba (a close family member, a family-like environment, a community, employment history or studies in Manitoba)
- Validate your language skills
- MPNP assessment criteria: 60 points or higher
BC (British Columbia)
A record number of 290 applications were submitted to British Columbia through the Provincial Nominee Program on September 13. An overall draw of 227 applicants selected workers from the tech industry in addition to the general applicants. Contrary to last week’s draw, candidates from outside the Metro Vancouver Regional District were not specifically targeted in this draw.
Express Entry candidates, as well as foreign graduates and talent workers, received invitations. Also included in the draw were semi-skilled and entry-level individuals. Between 78 and 120 was the lowest SIRS value.
In the same way that the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) only applies to BCPNP (British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program) applicants, SIRS applies only to BCPNP applicants.
Candidates working in the following occupations were also invited to apply:
- A minimum of 60 points was scored by 27 early childhood educators and assistants.
- A minimum score of 60 points has been achieved by 12 healthcare workers.
- An assistant in healthcare with a score of at least 60 points qualifies as a healthcare worker.
- For other priority jobs, a score of 60 points is necessary.
Saskatchewan
In total, 326 people were invited on September 15. The Express Entry system was used to conduct draws, as was the case with NOC occupations-in-demand and the Occupations-in-Demand system.
Both the 53 Express Entry applicants and the 273 Occupation-In-Demand applicants needed a minimum score of 60.
