According to Canada’s latest PNP result, this week both Ontario and Manitoba have put out calls for applications through their respective PNPs (Provincial Nominee Programs). These programs allow provinces to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada. Those who are successful in their applications will be given a nomination certificate which will allow them to apply for PR in Canada.
It is possible to gain permanent residence through a provincial nomination, although it does not necessarily constitute permanent residence.
Quebec and Nunavut are the only Canadian provinces and territories without provincial nomination programs. Each province of Canada operates its own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). It provides potential immigrants with an opportunity to obtain a provincial nomination in order to become permanent residents of Canada. Individuals who fulfill the essential requirements may be welcomed to apply for a provincial nomination, an avenue to an enduring residency.
There are over a hundred thousand permanent residence admissions processed annually through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). PNP admissions have increased over the past decade, with both the federal and provincial governments using it to boost non-urban economic growth.
