There are 636 candidates invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada on 22 June by Express Entry.
Invited applicants previously had received nominations from a PNP program and had scored a minimum of 752 in CSR (Comprehensive Ranking System). The minimum score was high due to an automatic 600 points being added to Express Entry candidates after receiving a provincial nomination. Candidates are required to have 152 lowest points without the provincial nomination.
IRCC invited a total of 932 applicants in the previous draw. The targeted minimum score was 796 to be asked.
Is this the last PNP draw?
All Express Entry programs draw will start again from 6 July.
Lat April, it is announced by the immigration minister of Canada that Express Entry invitations for candidates of CEC (Canadian Experience Class) and FSWP (Federal Skilled Worker Program) will start in the month of July but no date was given at that time.
From September 2021, IRCC has conducted the draw only for PNP candidates. IRCC has temporarily stopped the Express Entry for CEC and FSWP candidates to reduce the backlog, which was aggravated by the pandemic.
The application list of three express admission programs of IRCC has improved since the announcement. Since 1 June, it has come to 31,603 people as compared to 40,889 at the end of the month of April.
Although all event draws can resume in two weeks, this may not be the end of the PNP draw forever. Prior to the pandemic, IRCC sometimes conducted only PNP draws. The IRCC considers the PNP to be of paramount importance in supporting economic development sectors across Canada.
In addition, Bill C-19 is on track to be passed in the Canadian Parliament, which would allow the IRCC to invite candidates whose profiles match the government’s economic priorities. For example, the government may conduct occupation-specific draws for candidates who are working in an occupation where there is a shortage of workers.
About Express Entry System
Express Entry is a migration application management system that manages the three most admired migration programs in Canada which are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Trade Programs, and the Federal Skilled Workers Program. Those candidates who want to enter the pool of Express Entry must have to be qualified for one of these programs.
To rank, the profile of candidates from the pool of Express Entry IRCC uses a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) based on the points. Candidates have to score higher to obtain an ITA from IRCC and then they are able to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
An IRCC officer will check your application once you have done your process of application and make a final decision. You may be asked by the officer for an interview, biometric verification, or some more documents.
You will receive COPR by IRCC if your application is approved. Then you are able to complete your process of landing in Canada. If you are outside of Canada, you can take help from pre-arrival services in Canada.
