You can submit online applications for some paper-based immigration programs. IRCC has launched online web portals for seven Canadian immigration programs. The immigration department of Canada has decided to initiate a digitized process for permanent residency applications under the following programs:
Provincial Nominee Program
Atlantic Immigration Pilot
Quebec Self-Employed Persons Program
Quebec Selected Investor Program
Quebec Entrepreneur Progra,
Atlantic Immigration Pilot
Agri-Food Pilot
Three out of the total seven programs selected by the department belong to the province of Quebec.
However, IRCC will not discontinue accepting paper-based applications for these seven programs. So, you can still opt for the paper-based mode to apply for these immigration programs.The immigration department is providing an online platform for submitting applications so that applicants get more immigration options as per their skill set to apply for Canadian permanent residence. An online application portal will make the immigration system more organized and efficient. In March 2020, IRCC created an online platform for taking citizenship tests as travel restrictions prohibited candidates from being physically present. Canada also introduced an online landing process that allowed approved permanent residents to appear online for interviews instead of in-person interviews. Marco Mendicino, immigration minister of Canada, has the vision to make all immigration processes virtual and simple.
