British Columbia extended its popular Tech Pilot program this year. The Tech Pilot is introduced with an objective to accelerate the growth of the technology sector.
Through this pilot, employers can hire talented foreign workers and international students who can address the needs of the tech market. The tech pilot provides a fast-track immigration route to talented tech workers.
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program has recently conducted its new Tech Pilot draw by inviting 87 candidates. These candidates can now apply for a provincial nomination. The province has invited candidates using the categories of BC PNP – Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration. British Columbia held the draw on June 23.

The province maintains a list of 29 eligible occupations of the tech sector. So, selected candidates had a job offer from the listed occupations. And the validity of the job offer should be at least one year.
Also, applicants who belonged to the Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories needed a score of 80 under the BC assessment system. Candidates are evaluated based on human capital as well as economic factors.
