In the wake of the U.S. immigration ban, Canada’s Immigration Minister, Marco Mendicino, has asked the skilled workers to “Come to Canada”.
From the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Canada is committed to welcoming new immigrants. Although the economy of Canada has suffered a severe slowdown, the federal government believes that Immigrants will be a key to economic recovery post-coronavirus.
Mendocino believes that Canada has immigration pathways like the Express Entry system and the Global Talent Stream, which helps skilled workers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and engineers to immigrate to Canada.
Canada also has numerous immigration streams for international students and temporary foreign workers.
During the pandemic, Canada has welcomed a large number of immigrants through the famous Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee Programs. Also, Canada is allowing entry to temporary foreign workers, particularly in essential service occupations. Tech workers can move to Canada through the Global Talent Stream, Ontario Tech draws, and British Columbia Tech Pilot.
