On July 13, British Columbia issued 56 invitations to people working in eligible tech occupations. The province invited candidates under the Tech pilot draw. This pilot has become a permanent immigration program now and falls under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
Skilled Workers and International Graduates who received invitations had to have a provincial score of 80 points or higher.
Invitees have 30 days to submit their complete application for a BC provincial nomination.

The province of British Columbia launched the Tech Pilot in 2017 as per the labor market survey. The study revealed that the province faced a shortage of tech talent and therefore the technology sector was not growing.
The tech pilot project remained highly successful. So, the government made the announcement of making it a permanent program this year.
Tech pilot offers fast-track immigration processing. And it invites in-demand tech workers. Applicants need to register themselves in one of the streams of the B.C. PNP. They also require a job offer in one of the qualified occupations. The job offered to tech workers must not be part-time and candidates have to do the job for a minimum of one year.
Candidates who receive invitations under the tech stream have to submit their complete applications to the concerned authority. If their application is approved, it will take just 2-3 months for the nomination confirmation.
