On August 24, the province of B.C. invited 74 potential immigrates who particularly work in key technology.
The BC PNP Tech is a part of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). The invited candidates must meet the eligibility requirement for any one of British Columbia’s Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories. These categories are managed by the Skills and Registration System (SIRS).
Those who have received invitations for this tech draw were majorly from Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories and had acquired a minimum provincial score of 80.
The candidates are allowed a time of one month to apply for the provincial nomination.
What is the BC PNP Tech program?
The BC PNP Tech started as a pilot project right after the labor market study. The program was launched back in May 2017. The BC PNP Tech started as a pilot project right after the labor market study. According to the study, the tech sector of BC was facing major complexes as there was a lack of talent.
This drove B.C to convert it into a permanent program. The program got extended for an indefinite time and was later renamed BC PNP Tech to allow BC tech recruiters to continue to call and select foreign talent when there is no qualified skilled worker nearby.
The BC PNP Tech is a super-fast immigration program that calls for in-demand tech workers and international students. The only requirements that the candidates need are to be registered in any one of B.C’s existing provincial immigration streams and have a job offer that is valid for at least 12 months. The job offer should fall under the 29 eligible occupations list.
BC PNP Tech only validates job offers for one year, with at least 120 days remaining at the time when applying for BC PNP. It must also be a full-time offer from an eligible employer in the province.
BC sends out weekly invitations to the top-scoring potential candidates through BC PNP Tech Program.
All tech applications are processed in two or three months after the candidate has applied for a provincial nomination with a complete application.
Only once the application is approved the candidates shall receive a nomination confirmation to apply for a permanent residence in Canada from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under Provincial Nominee Program Class.
