Alberta invites candidates for provincial nomination, i.e., the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has continued its active provincial immigration selection rounds by inviting more than 1,100 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Between July 3 and July 15, 2026, Alberta conducted six separate draws and issued at least 1,167 invitations across multiple immigration streams.
The province focused on candidates working in healthcare, technology, and law enforcement occupations, along with individuals interested in living and working in rural Alberta. These draws reflect Alberta’s ongoing efforts to address labour shortages in key sectors while supporting economic growth across the province.
As of July 15, Alberta has conducted a total of 62 provincial immigration draws in 2026.
Latest Draw Results
The AAIP invited candidates through the following immigration streams and pathways:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream;
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway;
- Express Entry.
- Non-Express Entry.
- Alberta Express Entry Stream; and
- Law Enforcement Pathway.
- Accelerated Tech Pathway.
- Rural Renewal Stream.
Most invitations were issued through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, continuing a pattern that has been seen in many of Alberta’s draws this year.
Although the number of invitations varied across the six draws, the minimum selection scores remained very close, with only a small difference between them.

These selection rounds closely matched Alberta’s immigration priorities for 2026. Healthcare workers, technology professionals, law enforcement personnel, and candidates willing to settle in rural communities remained the province’s main focus.
The July 3 draw for healthcare professionals under the Express Entry pathway was the largest healthcare-specific selection round conducted by Alberta this year.
According to the latest AAIP figures, Alberta has now issued at least 10,736 invitations for provincial nomination in 2026.

Alberta has also shared updated information about the number of nominations issued under each immigration stream.
As of July 15, the province had issued 3,582 nominations from its total 2026 allocation of 6,403 nomination spaces.

Apart from its regular Provincial Nominee Program allocation, Alberta also used additional nomination spaces to nominate 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.
Worker Expression Of Interest Pool And Pending Applications
Alberta has also released updated figures showing the number of Worker Expressions of Interest (WEOIs) currently in the selection pool, along with the number of provincial nomination applications waiting for a decision.
As of July 15, there were 36,760 Worker Expressions of Interest in the pool. Nearly 62.3% of these registrations were submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, making it the largest worker category in the province.
At the same time, Alberta reported that 1,466 provincial nomination applications were awaiting review.
