Ontario invites GTA workers in the latest immigration draw, i.e., on April 30, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held two new draws under its Employer Job Offer streams. These draws focused on candidates working in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The province issued a total of 997 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). Most invitations went to workers in healthcare, construction and trades, administration, and tech and IT roles.
To qualify for these draws, candidates needed to be living in Canada with a valid work or study permit. They also needed to have a job offer in the GTA.
The GTA includes the following Census Divisions: Durham, Peel, Toronto, and York.
Details Of The Latest GTA Draw
Ontario’s late-April draw invited candidates through two streams: the Foreign Worker stream and the International Student stream.
Most of the invitations, i.e., 72.2%, were issued through the Foreign Worker stream.
To see the minimum score and number of invitations issued varied by draw, see below:
| Stream | Invitations Issued | Cut-Off Score |
| Foreign Worker | 720 | 57 |
| International Student | 277 | 81 |
Only profiles created and submitted by April 28, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. were included in this draw. Profiles submitted before July 2, 2025, were not considered.
This was the sixth round of OINP draws in April. A previous draw on April 23 invited more than 2,000 candidates.
This draw was also the second GTA-focused selection held by Ontario in 2026. The earlier one took place on March 25.
Comparison With The Previous GTA Draw
The March 25 draw invited 431 candidates. The latest April 30 draw invited 566 more candidates than that.
Here is a comparison of both draws:
| Stream | Invitations Issued | Cut-Off Score |
| Foreign Worker | 355 | 61 |
| International Student | 76 | 90 |
The April 30 draw not only invited more candidates but also had lower cutoff scores compared to the March 25 draw.

Upcoming Changes To Ontario’s Immigration System
These draws come before major changes to Ontario’s immigration system.
New rules under the Ontario Immigration Act will take effect on May 30, 2026.
These changes will remove current streams, including the Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams.
Ontario plans to introduce a new combined Employer Job Offer stream along with three new pathways.
However, details about when these new streams will begin or how current applicants will move into the new system have not yet been shared.
