The increase in the payrolls was experienced by eight provinces led by Ontario which had over 43,000 new recruitments rolling. The second in line was the province of British Columbia, followed by Quebec.
The service-producing sectors resulted in more and more jobs. These sectors were food services, agriculture, public administration, insurance, and finance.
According to Statistics Canada, the travel and tourism sector flourished after the travel restrictions were brought down following the pandemic and reopening of the US-Canada border in the month of August.
Although the scarcity of employees is still a challenge. At the start of September, there witnessed over 1 million job vacancies. Out of which, 200,000 were in the food sector and accommodation alone resulting in 14.4 percent.
More than half in business accommodation and food services is expected to face problems in employing the right candidate. With this, 30 percent of all the other sectors of business report the same.
There have been more than 130,000 vacancies in the month of September in healthcare and social assistance, which is almost double compared to the total vacancies last year.
There have been reports that the business and the accommodation sector find it troublesome to seek candidates who are a perfect match. Moreover, about 30 percent of the business reports have similar concerns.
The month of September alone witnessed almost 122,000 vacancies in the retail exchange sector. Whereas, development and assembling areas too had 80,000 empty vacancies too.
