Four consecutive draws were held by the IRCC between July 4 and 7.
To be included in the 700 invitations sent out on July 4. Also, candidates were required to have a minimum CRS score of 511. CRS was the highest score ever required for this particular all-program draw in 2023.

During the week of July 7, the fourth draw was held. 2300 individuals with a minimum CRS of 439 and strong French language proficiency received ITAs.
Express Entry draw result – June 27-28
A total of 4,300 candidates were welcomed by the IRCC in a draw for all programs held on June 27. It was necessary for these applicants to have a CRS of 486.
On June 28, the IRCC released the first category-based ITAs. A total of 500 people with work experience in healthcare occupations. And a minimum CRS score of 476 was asked to apply for permanent residency.
Category-based selection
The categories that would be used by the IRCC for category-based selection were completed on May 31, according to Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Sean Fraser. These predicted categories resulted from the adoption of Bill C-19, which is now law, in the Canadian parliament last June. The law gives the immigration minister the authority to extend invitations to individuals seeking economic immigration to Canada in order to advance both the French language outside of Quebec and Canada’s economy.
As a result, rather than only taking into account the CRS score, the minister now has the option to offer invitations to newcomers. It is based on specific qualities like language fluency or work experience.
In order to determine the most significant labor shortages in Canada, the categories were developed in consultation with stakeholders and the provinces and territories. The following are what they are:
- STEM professions
- Healthcare
- Strong French-language proficiency
- Agriculture and agri-food
- Trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors
- Transport
- Science and technology engineering
Candidates must be eligible for an Express Entry program in order to be considered for selection under these categories. Additionally, as applicants will still be rated against one another according to the CRS, having a high score is still helpful.
By the end of 2023, IRCC hopes to accept 82,880 new permanent residents through Express Entry in accordance with the Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025. By 2024 and 2025, this number will rise to 109,020 and 114,000, respectively. In addition to strengthening Canada’s labor force, the addition of additional Express Entry categories will help achieve these goals.
