Quebec Held Two Arrima Draws In December, Invited 305 Candidates

The largest province in Canada, Quebec holds significant importance for the country as it delivers a large economic output. Quebec governs the immigration system autonomously. It has its own rules and regulations for selecting immigrants to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Also, the province favors those candidates who can integrate into its culture and society. The two Arrima draws that were held in December have invited 305 immigration candidates. Out of the 305 invitations, 220 were issued in the draw that took place on December 17, 2019. Besides, 85 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence at the beginning of December.

What is Arrima Portal?

The earlier method of Quebec for accepting applications was a paper-based “first-come, first-served” approach. In 2018, the province replaced this old system with the Arrima portal which is based on the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Arrima controls the bank of candidates who wish to immigrate to Quebec through the Regular Skilled Worker Program.

How does the process work?

First, a candidate is required to submit an expression of interest form by filling out details such as age, education, work experience, and language skills. Thereafter, the Ministere analyses the profiles and send invitations to applicants who are suitable for the labor market needs in the province. Immigration candidates who receive invitations are granted a Quebec Selection Certificate, which is essential for the application of permanent residence through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
