The Provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia have all invited candidates to apply to their provincial immigration program. Apart from Nunavut and Quebec, Canada’s most provinces and territories managed their own PNP draws. A provincial nomination may be offered through these programs.
In Quebec, the province manages immigration policies rather than the federal government. In spite of the fact that a provincial nomination is not the same as a permanent residence, it can be used as a first step toward obtaining it from the Immigration and Refugee Commission.
Result of PNP draws between 24 September to 29 September
Quebec
Earlier this month, Quebec announced it was seeking applications for 1,009 skilled professionals, In order to qualify for the draw, applicants needed to have work experience in in-demand professions and a legitimate offer of employment outside of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
It is required that candidates have an Arrima Expression of Interest profile with a minimum 5-point rating.
It is Quebec’s eleventh draw in 2022 and the second in September. This is an uncommon occurrence in Quebec since draws are only held once a month. In Quebec, the results of a draw are usually announced one to two weeks after the draw has taken place.
The QSWP (Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program) was used by immigrants to apply, and the MIFI (Ministry of Immigration, Refugee, and Integration) handed out invitations to those immigrants.
Québec invites applicants to apply for permanent selection and pays processing fees within 60 days of receiving that invitation. From the day Quebec obtains all necessary information, it intends to process complete applications within six months.
Ontario
There were two draws conducted by the ONIP (Ontario Immigration Nominee Program) over the past week. A first draw was conducted for the French Speaking Skilled Workers stream on 23 September. 363 applicants applied for this draw and 326 were accepted. It is necessary that individuals have fluency in French and English at a high level to qualify for the program.
Stream two was Human Capital Priorities. A targeted draw for tech-related positions was conducted on 28 September via ONIP. The invites were distributed to 1,179 people in total. Specialization in the tech-related field was common among all candidates.
British Columbia
In response to British Columbia’s invitation on 28 September, over 258 people submitted applications. 215 are those candidates who applied for tech jobs and received invitations. Invites were sent out to Express Entry applicants, International Graduates, and Skilled Workers.
Candidates having a SIRS score of at least 100 participated in tech-focused draws. This system applies only to Applicants to British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program.
Candidates rounds were also held for the following occupations within the province.
- 28 Candidates with Childhood educators and assistance with a minimum score of 60 points.
- A total of 15 semi-skilled, healthcare workers from skilled professions foreign graduates, and entry-level workers are invited who obtain a minimum of 60.
- Candidates who scored at least 60 points in both the semi-skilled and entry-level categories.
- Other occupations with minimum scores of 60 are priority occupations.
British Columbia recently stated that BC Provincial Nominee Program will be paused from 12 October to 16 November to move the program from NOC 2016 to NOC 2021. It is a method for evaluating candidates’ skill levels in economic immigration programs.
Saskatchewan
Under its Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program, Province has received 1,146 applications thus far. It includes 639 applications under the Occupations-In-Demand streams. Of those 1,146 applicants, A total of 639 applications have been accepted.
Over 1000 applicants applied for the most recent PNP draws, held this summer. And this draw, this is the first since 7 September. The last PNP draw occurred last week, making it the first draw since 6 July.
