Interestingly, Manitoba conducted a PNP invitation round last week with fresh draw results released. The invitation round was specifically conducted for British Columbians, Ukrainians, and the citizens of Alberta.
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, most of the provinces and territories in Canada function with their separate PNPs. These programs make it easier for the candidates to apply for Provincial Nomination. Although, these programs don’t have the same value as the permanent residence yet they drastically increase the chances to attain a permanent residency status.
Candidates under the PNP (Provincial Nomination Program) with Express Entry profiles get 600 additional points which can be a valuable addition to their score. These additional points also open the possibility of being invited to PNP invitation rounds which are specific.
According to the latest Express Entry draw, 589 candidates were invited with a minimum CRS score of 741 (for PNP candidates only).
Three provinces in Canada revealed the invitation results of the immigration candidates. The PNP Draw summary for the week is given below.
Alberta- AINP
On May 19, 2022, AINP sent invitations to 100 Express Entry candidates so that they can apply for Alberta’s Express Entry stream. The minimum eligibility score criteria to get an invitation for a provincial nomination from Alberta was 382.
Alberta’s Express Entry stream demands valid work experience under an eligible occupation from candidates to apply for it.
As per the AAIP, there are specific occupations that are considered ineligible.
Several factors influence your chance of being nominated. These include the following:
- Education in Canada
- A valid job offer in Alberta
- Any family member, it could be a parent, sibling, or, child living in Canada.
- The candidate should ensure that he or she meets the Express Entry eligibility requirements with 300 as the minimum score level.
- Displaying an intention of permanently moving to Alberta can also increase the chances of receiving an ITA (Invitation to apply).
British Columbia-PNP
As per the BC PNPs, the latest invitation rounds were held on May 24 with over 137 immigration candidates from BC receiving invitations to apply for a Provincial Nomination.
The BC Tech Draw invited 115 candidates after meeting British Columbia’s requirements related to the categories Express Entry BC and skill immigration. These two categories are well managed by the SIRS (Skills and Immigration Registration System).
Those who were able to receive invitations under this draw belonged to the subcategories of Skilled Worker and International Graduates with a minimum score of 85.
Two other draws held under targeted occupations included 11 childhood educators, qualifying the sub-categories of Skilled Worker and International Graduate, who were invited. Other than this, 11 healthcare professionals who were eligible under the sub-categories Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled were also invited by BC. These draws demanded a minimum provincial score of 60.
Manitoba- MPNP
Manitoba holds draws periodically as an initiative to help the Ukraine citizens for immigration. Under the MPNP draw, invitations to apply for permanent residency are sent. This initiative is an effort toward helping the people (of Ukraine) affected by the Russian invasion to live in the province.
Three special invitation rounds have been conducted from March onwards. The most recent being the one which was conducted on May 20. This draw observed 13 letters of advice issued with 60 as the minimum score required.
As for the eligibility criteria, the candidates were supposed to match the basic level of CLB 4 for each category of language, a valid language test, and have close relatives in Manitoba, previous work experience in Manitoba, or studying in Manitoba.
