Through the PGP, Canada allows the parents and grandparents of Canadians to secure Canada PR and citizenship. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada will invite nearly 10,000 sponsors to further submit their applications.

Income requirement eased
Canada has relaxed the income requirements for sponsors. Since many people in Canada have lost their regular income due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the government has reduced the income requirement for sponsors for the taxation year 2020. Now the applicants do not need to have more than 30% of the minimum required income in order to sponsor their family members. Sponsors will have to submit Canada Revenue Agency notices of Assessment to confirm that they meet the income requirements.
