Newfoundland and Labrador holds the sixth immigration draw, continuing its efforts to invite skilled newcomers through two provincial programs.
This latest draw issued invitations to candidates in both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
Latest Draw Details
The Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) invited a total of 150 candidates across both programs.
| Program | Number Of Invitations Issued |
| NLPNP | 100 |
| AIP | 50 |
This draw marks the smallest number of total invitations issued since the province transitioned to the Expression of Interest (EOI) system earlier this year.
Although the number of AIP invitations remains stable, there has been a noticeable drop in NLPNP invitations compared to previous draws, signaling a shift in selection trends.
The table below shows the details of Newfoundland and Labrador’s past draws for 2025.
| Date Of Draw | Program | Number Of Invitations Issued | Total Invited Candidates |
| April 3 | NLPNP | 206 | 256 |

Newfoundland and Labrador holds the sixth immigration draw. To date, Newfoundland and Labrador has issued 1,818 invitations through its 2025 immigration draws. Of these, 1,495 invitations have gone to NLPNP candidates, while 323 were issued through the AIP.
The NLPNP has an annual nomination limit of 2,050 for 2025, leaving 555 nomination spaces still available.
In contrast, the province’s AIP allocation is 475, with 152 spots remaining as of now.
How To Apply For An Invitation?
In February, the province officially adopted an EOI-based system for both the NLPNP and the AIP. Before this change, applications were assessed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Now, individuals hoping to immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the OIM.
The province reviews EOIs and issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) throughout the year in scheduled rounds.
Applicants may only proceed with their NLPNP application or be included in an AIP endorsement if they receive an ITA.
To receive an ITA, your profile must meet the province’s labour market needs and strategic interests.
Currently, the province prioritizes occupations in key sectors. These occupations are not subject to labour market testing and benefit from faster processing.
Priority sectors as of now include:
- Health care
- Information and communications technology
- Aquaculture
