Five Canadian provinces, Ontario, British Columbia, PEI, Alberta, and Manitoba, released the latest PNP results and issued invitations.
Provincial governments select economic immigrants who will be most likely to integrate successfully into the provincial labor force through the PNP. Provinces identify these candidates either by choosing them among the Express Entry applicants or by accepting direct applications from individuals.
The PNP is possible since immigration is a shared responsibility of the federal government and the provinces. Each province is allocated a certain number of nominations by the federal government, except for Quebec and Nunavut. PNP is expected to attract 105,550 new permanent residents by 2023, according to IRCC.
