Between August 4 and August 12, Alberta invited 367 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
The invitations came through five selection rounds. The draws focused on workers in key areas, including healthcare, agriculture, construction and technology.
As of August 12, the AAIP had held 69 provincial immigration draws in 2026.

The latest AAIP draws included the Alberta Express Entry Stream, Rural Renewal Stream and Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream included draws focused on agriculture and healthcare, along with the Accelerated Tech Pathway.
The streams and pathways used in the latest draws were:

- Priority sectors – Healthcare
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Dedicated Health Care pathway – Express Entry
The Rural Renewal Stream issued the largest share of invitations, accounting for 34.6% of the total.

The August 4 healthcare draw had the highest minimum score for this type of draw so far in 2026.
By August 12, Alberta had issued at least 11,215 invitations to apply for provincial nomination during 2026.
Alberta Provincial Nomination Figures
Alberta recently received 200 additional nomination spaces from the federal government. This increased the province’s 2026 allocation from 6,403 to 6,603.
By August 12, Alberta had used 4,184 nomination spaces, leaving 2,419 spaces for the rest of the year.

Alberta has also nominated 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 Francophone candidates through additional nomination spaces. These nominations are separate from the province’s 2026 PNP allocation.
Worker Expressions Of Interest And Applications Awaiting Decisions
Alberta also reported the number of Worker Expression of Interest (WEOI) profiles in each stream and the number of nomination applications waiting for a final decision.
As of August 12, the WEOI pool had 36,932 profiles. About 63.1% of these profiles were submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
The province had 1,336 nomination applications waiting for a final decision.
