In the most recent Express Entry draw, conducted on August 3, 2022, Canada has invited 2,000 applicants to submit applications for permanent residency. One of the most well-known immigration routes in Canada for talented immigrants is Express Entry.
Candidates who received a minimum of 533 on the Comprehensive Ranking System had been sent invitations (CRS). Due to the lack of a recognized program for this draw, applicants from both the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were welcome to apply.
The minimum CRS points needed for this draw were nine points fewer than they were for the draw that took place on July 20. In addition, the draw received 250 more applicants than the first draw, with 1,750 applicants receiving an invitation to apply.
5, 250 Express Entry applicants have obtained ITAs since the start of the all draw on 6 July. Only individuals who qualified for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Provincial Nominee Program were invited to the draw, which was suspended by IRCC for more than 18 months.
Canada anticipates 111,500 permanent residents to be admitted by the end of 2024 utilizing Express Entry, up from 55,900 in 2022.
PGWP holders who have reached their expiration dates can now apply for a fresh open work permit
Thousands of people with Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP) have seen their work permit status expire as a result of a halt in invitations to Express Entry CEC candidates throughout September 2021 and July 2022. While they waited for IRCC to process their application for permanent residence, they were not allowed to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit due to the lack of CEC invitations. An additional 18 months of open work permit status will be granted to PGWP holders whose permits have expired thanks to special measures that the IRCC announced yesterday. This action will enable these applicants to work while they wait for permanent residency, aiding in their transition.
Express Entry is currently temporarily open to distance learning
Many international students have had to finish their studies online over the previous two years due to limitations brought on by the pandemic. In light of this, the IRCC announced that learning credentials for students who successfully completed the Canadian educational program online between March 2020 and August 2022 would now be allowed to be used as part of their overall CRS score.
This implies that when uploading their online Express Entry profile, students can include any online education they have completed as part of their educational credentials.
Due to the global easing of pandemic limitations, this protection will only be temporary. Generally, students will not be eligible for CRS marks for educational qualifications if they have completed 50% of their education degree through distance learning. However, if you finished any portion of your course of study or preparation between March 2020 and August 2022 and received a Canadian degree, diploma, or certificate, you are now qualified to get points for a Canadian educational credential if you did so completely via distance learning, part-time education or from outside of Canada.
There’s a chance that candidates who are already in the Express Entry Pool have already gotten a letter from IRCC telling them that their online profile’s education information needs to be changed. The letter states that there are three new questions in the part on educational background that applicants must answer to avoid getting low CRS scores.
In order to obtain the certificate, the questions inquire as to how much in-person instruction, instruction in Canada, and full-time instruction the candidate accomplished. To guarantee they kept their CRS score and continued to be eligible for the current draw, the IRCC recommended candidates update their profiles by August 2 when the letter was made public.
Describe Express Entry
Express Entry is a system that the Canadian government uses to organize and handle applicants from professionals looking to immigrate to the country and get permanent residency. Three major governments’ economic programs are administered under the system:
Canadian Experience Class – (CEC)
Federal Skilled Workers Programs – (FSWP)
Federal Skilled Trade Programs – (FSTP)
Those candidates who want to migrate to Canada through Express Entry need to be qualified for any one of these programs. Express Entry uses the CRS points method to rank the Candidate’s profiles in order of importance. In order to apply for permanent residency, candidates who score the highest must first obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
The candidate submits an application, which is reviewed by an IRCC representative before being chosen. The officer could also set up an interview or ask for additional papers in addition to biometric data. Upon acceptance, the individual is provided with Confirmation of Permanent Residence. In order to properly become a permanent resident of Canada, the landing procedure must be completed.
